A world in which everybody takes their own life, makes the most sense.

2025-12-21

When one tries to think philosophically deep enough, the idea of living might eventually dilute down to something that seems purposeless. Nihilism argues that nothing that we do, think, nor say -- good or bad -- ultimately matters in the grand scheme of things, due to its temporary and short-lasting consequences and legacy.

Humans are said to die twice. The first death is by the dysfunctionality of the physical body, where the body will cease to function and our consciousness eventually diminishes. The second death, is years and years after our body decayed. It is the death in which none of our legacy nor proof of existence persists in the world. No mark is left that speaks our name, our existence is unprovable, and therefore, it's as if we have never existed before.

Though the true death might take centuries, or even millenniums to occur -- if it were to be compared to the grand time scheme of the universe, from the past to the distant, presumably endless future... it is still a minute time period in comparison. Our existence is insignificant, and no legacy of us as individual, nor as humanity as a whole, will ever last.

And so it rooted to the question, why live? Why live if at the end it will not matter to the slightest? Why endure pain, or pursue happiness in this world full of judgement, failure, success, love, or anything, really -- if in the end, it and every proof of it will cease to exist?

Humanity had always been driven by the will and egos to live. It had been built upon wars, agriculture, innovations, politics, legacies, and so much more. Where it leads to... is horrendously pathetic.

So, for one to die due to the belief of nihilism. I say, that's understandable.

I know that by writing this blog, it will ultimately contradicts with the idea of nihilism as a whole. This blog will eventually cease to exist years later when the internet dies or nobody caares enough to archive and save the datas that is this blog anywhere. But, it is a pretty neat thought to think about.
